BISSELL ProHeat Essential vs HOOVER Power Scrub: Main Differences, & Which To Get?

Firstly, it’s important to note that both the Essential and the Power Scrub models are both upright, corded, carpet cleaner machines.

They are used primarily for carpets, area rugs, and similar floor surfaces.

So, if a carpet cleaner type cleaning machine is what you want, you might consider them.

Secondly, a summary of what each model offers:

ProHeat Essential

BISSELL’S 2X Revolution Pet Pro is slightly more powerful and lighter than the Essential, and you get the 12 row Dual Powerbrush on the 2X Revolution as opposed to the 6 row Powerbrush on the Essential.

The 2X Revolution Pet Pro also gives you a longer limited warranty, and has the CleanShot Pretreater that the Essential doesn’t have.

You’d get the Essential is you want the cheaper and more basic of the two cleaners.

So, that’s where the Essential falls on BISSELL’s upright carpet cleaner range.

Compared to the Power Scrub, the Essential is very similar.

The Essential and PowerScrub weigh similar amounts, have similar water tank capacities, can both be used on carpets as well as above floor level on upholstery, both have Heat technology.

The Essential at the moment though has a year longer limited warranty.

Power Scrub Models

The Power Scrub models can the Deluxe model, and the Pet Elite model.

These machines perform a wet clean with water, scrubber brushes, and a cleaning formula, and then help dry with suction and heated air.

They can be used on carpet, but also above floor level on upholstery, stairs, and so on – with the use of a hose and various cleaning tools.

The Pet Elite model is the upgraded model of the two – with a quick clean mode, 25% bigger water tank capacity, longer warranty, comes with different cleaning tools – just to name a few things.

The Power Scrub sits in between the HOOVER PowerDash and HOOVER SmartWash in terms of features and capabilities in HOOVER’s upright carpet cleaner range.

Overall

The Deluxe presents a pretty good value for money option.

Although, rather than looking at the Essential and Power Scrub models first, it’s worth checking out first the HOOVER SmartWash, and also BISSELL’s Revolution 2X Pet Pro carpet cleaner.
