Shark APEX Stick (DuoClean & UpLight) vs Shark Rocket vs Shark Vertex vs Dyson V Series: Main Differences, & Which To Get?

Overall

Overall, both the Dyson and Shark stick vacuums are worth considering, as they are both well rated.

Look at the Shark Rocket range if you want something still affordable, but with enough features for a good clean. The Shark Rocket range also has several different models to choose from.

Up from there, the Shark APEX and Dyson V Series vacuums are worth looking at as high tier/high performing stick vacs.

The Shark APEX DuoClean ZS362 is designed to have more suction power than any Rocket vacuum, and so is the Vertex corded model.

The Dyson V11 in particular is designed as the most powerful cordless stick vac on the market.

The Vertex vacuums are worth looking at too in that higher tier of stick vacuums – but, they seem to be newer to the market at the moment.

Most of Shark’s vacuums are corded, but one Rocket model is cordless, as well as one Vertex model.

Dyson’s stick vacuums are cordless.

Dyson’s V Series stick vacuums are some of the highest rated vacuums on the market.

So, consider whether you want a corded or cordless vacuum when making your selection.

Differences

– Shark Vacuum Differences

The Rocket range is Shark’s most basic range of these stick vacs. There’s more models available in the Rocket range than the APEX or Vertex stick range.

Working up from there (up to more advanced and higher speck stick vacs), the APEX ZS362 stick vacuum in particular is designed to have more suction than any of the Shark Rocket stick vacuums (it has a slightly higher rated Wattage and Amps to reflect this)

The ZS362 has more features in the one model than any one of the Rocket range stick vacs, including features like DuoClean, a Zero-M Self Cleaning Brush Roll for pet hair, LED headlights, and so on.

The APEX UpLight LV602 is designed as an upright stick vacuum, that has the Lift Away feature to be used as a hand vac too. It’s essentially Shark’s lightest upright vac in this regard. Having said that, it has similar features to the APEX ZS362 (specs like the dust cup capacity do have minor differences though.

The Vertex stick vacs have the latest and most advanced cleaning features, such as the DuoClean Powerfins cleaning design.

The corded Vertex stick vac also has one of the highest rated Wattage of any of the Shark stick vacs, and is designed with powerful suction in mind (more powerful than the Rocket models).

The cordless model obviously offers the point of difference of being cordless compared to most of the other models which are corded.

One of the tradeoffs with the Vertex models is they have a smaller dust cup capacity than the APEX stick vacs.

– Shark vs Dyson Vacuum Differences

A reasonable difference is that the Dyson vacuums are cordless, compared to the mostly corded Shark stick vacs.

Another difference is that Dyson has it’s own patented technology it uses, such as whole machine filtration.

The V11 in particular is designed to be one of the most powerful suction cordless stick vacuums on the market.

It also has an LED screen with intelligent reporting, automatic motor speed chaning, and a docking station to recharge the vacuum.

Overall, the V11 is perhaps the most advanced and one of the most powerful cordless stick vacuums on the market right now. It also has some of the longest battery operation/run time of the Dyson cordless V series vacs.
