Best Robo Vacs For Pet Hair On The Market

We’ve already identified what some of the best overall vacuums for pet hair might be in this guide.

Overall Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Comparison

Overall Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Comparison Guide: Which To Get

Shark Ion

In terms of the Shark models …

You’d get the Shark 720 if you want a robot vac that works with a remote.

You’d get the Shark 750 is you want a robot vac that works with a smartphone app and through voice control with the Amazon Alexa.

eufy

If price is your main consideration, the 11S offers great value as a robotic vacuum with good suction power.

It is hand remote controlled.

bObsweep

The pet models are upgraded models of the Standard model (they have all the Standard model + more)

You’d get the PetHair Plus if you want a more powerful upgraded version of the PetHair. Both are vacuum and mop 2 in 1 units.

The bObi Pet is slightly different to both those models having touchscreen buttons on the vacuum. It has a mini mop attachment.

The bObi Classic is similar to the bObi Pet.

We think both the PetHair Plus and bObsweep Pet present good value for money for pet owners – the PetHair Plus in particular.

The bOb Classic present OK value for a regular robotic vacuum.

ECOVACS

The N79S offers pretty good value as a more affordable robo vac, so you may want to start there if price is important to you.

It’s smartphone app controlled, and Alexa voice activated.

It’s a vacuum only.

Samsung

The Samsung models are advanced robotic vacs that are smartphone controlled.

iRobot Roomba

In terms of the Roombas, in general, the 800 and 900 series Roombas are 5x more powerful, and in some cases up to 10x more powerful than the 600 and 700 series Roombas.

The 690 is the most basic model of them all – being app connected, and able to be used on floor surfaces of all types.

The next step up is the 890 with up to 5x the suction power (of the 600 and 700 series’), and it also comes with a high efficiency filter and tangle free brush rollers.

The next step up is the 960 which has up to 15 minutes more run time (75 minutes max), ability to do multi room cleaning, ability to recharge itself automatically and resume cleaning, provides a clean map report of areas cleaned, and provides a level of custom cleaning preferences.

The 980 is the most advanced model with a run time of up to 120 minutes, up to 10x the suction power (of the 600 and 700 series’), and the ability to increase power on deep and plush carpet surfaces.

So, generally – power, run time, and additional cleaning settings and features are added as you progress through the models. The 960 and 980 also have slightly larger dust container capacities as well as newer technology.

ILIFE ‘V’ Range

The V Range are not smartphone app controlled or Alexa voice activated. They are controlled with a hand remote or push button.

The V8s is the most advanced model, then the V7s, then the V5s, followed by the V3s Pro which is the most basic.

The V3s Pro is a robo vac only.

The V5s Pro is a robo vac and spot mop, with a more advanced Max motor.

The V7s Pro is a robo vac and spot mop, which has smart dust bin technology.

And, the V8s has LCD front display/button technology, along with bigger water and dust containers.

Overall, we would say the V3s Pro probably offers the best value for money when you look at it’s price and performance. It’s basic, but it’s quite affordable.

We would say to look at the iRobot Roomba 690, 890, 960 and 980 models before you buy the ILIFE robo vacs. iRobot make some high quality/good value robo vacs which you can compare to these ILIFE models.

One of the good things about the iRobot Roombas is the latest models are able to be controlled by an App, and are Smart Home Connected to Google Assistant and Alexa.

ILIFE ‘A’ Range

The A Range are mostly not smartphone app controlled or Alexa voice activated.

They are controlled with a hand remote or push button.

The A4s and A6 are the more basic and affordable models. These are the ones to look at if a lower price is your preference.

The A7 and A8 are more advanced with the A7 being able to be app controlled from a phone (and be controlled mechanically or with a remote), and the A8 having advanced room mapping and cleaning capability.

Neato

These are smartphone app controlled robo vacs, with Alexa voice control as well.

The D3 is the most basic of the Neato models, and the D7 is the most advanced.

The models also tend to increase in price from the D3 up to the D7.

For the most features and the best filtration system, and longest battery life – go the D6 or D7.

If a more basic model better suits what you are after, the D3 or D4 may be better options.

The D5 is somewhere in between, and is probably our pick for the best value and best performing of all the models (but this is just our opinion)

Overall Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Comparison Guide: Differences

The difference with the Sharks is in the way you can control them remotely:

Neato Robot Vacuum Reviews & Comparison: Botvac (D3 vs 4 vs 5 vs 6 vs 7 vs 80 vs 85) vs XV Series

Neato has a few different series of robotic vacuums.

These are the Neato Connected, D, Botvac and XV series’ (at the time of publishing this article).

What we’ve done is put together a Neato Series Comparison of the Connected vs D vs Botvac vs XV Series comparison.

In particular, we’ve included information on the D3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 80 & 85 models.

View Vacuums

NOTE: the Connected Series and D Series are the latest series’/models to come out, so this guide will focus on these two series.

You can however still click through to the older XV series in the links below.

If you prefer, you can go straight to viewing each model here:

XV Series

Neato Series & Model Comparison: Connected vs D vs Botvac vs XV Series – Which To Get?

The Connected and D Series are the latest series, with the Connected being the latest series (compared to the XV series which is the outdated series)

In deciding which to get out of these two series, the biggest things to note with the Connected and D Series models are probably:

The D80/85 comes with both a Spiral brush and a combo comb for different types of floors and specifically for picking up pet hair (whereas each other D model only comes with one or the other brush)

The D3, D4, D5, D6 and D7 models are app controlled with the Neato App, and you can control the vacuums from your phone, smartwatch, Amazon Echo, and Google Home. (whereas the D80/85 model isn’t)

The D3, D4, D5, D6 and D7 models come with lithium ion batteries with up to 120 minutes run time, whereas the D80/85 only comes with a NiMH battery with 60 minutes run time

Overall, we would probably go with one of the D3, D4, D5, D6 and D7 models – the D5 is a good middle pick with good value for money and good performance.

The D3 is the most basic of the models, and the D7 is the most advanced.

…NOTE: When we checked Neato’s website on September 24, 2018 – the D80 and D85 had the same specifications and are the same model.

  • https://www.neatorobotics.com/robot-vacuum/botvac-d-series/botvac-d85/

… “The Neato D80 / D85 feature Neato’s exclusive LaserSmart™ technology for a thorough, speedy, and precise clean. These models include a High Performance Filter and Combo Brush that is uniquely designed to pick up pet hair. The Combo Brush is quieter, especially on hard floors like wood and tile.

It tackles up to 3000 square feet of floor space per cleaning cycle with ease and automatically recharges. Neato’s distinct D-shape design allows the D80 / D85 to get deep into corners and close to walls, unlike round robots.

With the LCD screen, you can stop, start, and schedule cleanings on the robot. You can even do spot cleaning at the push of a button.”

Neato Botvac D80/85 vs D3, D4, D5, D6 & D7: Differences

The D80/85 comes with both a combo and a spiral comb, has a high performance filter, and up to a 60 minute battery life (NiMH)

The D3 has a standard filter, a combo brush, and up to 60 minutes charge (lithium ion)

The D4 has a high performance filter, combo brush, No Go Lines, 75 minute battery life and Quick Charging (lithium ion)

The D5 has an Ultra performance filter, combo brush, a side brush, and a 90 min battery life (lithium ion)

The D6 has an Ultra performance filter, Spiral combo brush, Side brush, No Go Lines, Multiple Floor Plans, 120 min battery life and Quick Boost Charging (lithium ion)

The D7 has an Ultra performance filter, Spiral combo brush, side brush, No Go Lines, Multiple Floors Plans, 120 min battery life (lithium ion), Zone Cleaning, 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz Wifi, Manual Drive Remote Control and Quick Boost Charging

eufy Robovac vs iRobot Roomba Comparison

eufy Robovac vs iRobot Roomba: Which To Get

If price is your main consideration, the 11S offers great value as a robotic vacuum with good suction power. It is hand remote controlled.

The 30C is slightly more powerful than the 11S and has smartphone app control, and is compatible with Alexa for voice control.

The iRobot Roomba models are also smartphone app controlled, and compatible with Alexa for voice control.

We already provided an individual summary on the Roombas in the ‘Overall Comparison’ section at the top of this guide

Overall, we would say all robotic vacs are more light duty vacs for light pet hair pick up, and are good for automatic cleaning.

Because of the price of all these vacs – check the return policy and warranty conditions before you buy to protect your money investment.

If you have lots of pet hair, or thick or long pet hair around the house, you are better off getting a manual upright vac with more power, dust container capacity and ability to lift hairs specifically where you find them.
