Dyson V10 Animal vs Absolute vs Motorhead: Which To Get?

The main differences are in the cleaner heads you get, the accessories you get, and the size of the dust containers.

The Motorhead is the most basic model of the three, so if a lower price but the high suction of the V10 motor is a priority for you, get the Motorhead.

The Animal and Absolute motors have larger dust container capacities, a different motorised cleaner head, and two additional cleaning accessories.

The Absolute is the only model that comes with a second cleaning head – the soft cleaning head for hard surfaces and larger debris.

If you want to do a lot of cleaning on hard surfaces, this may be the model for you.

If you don’t need the additional cleaner head, get the Animal.

Having said this, the V8 models are very popular and provide good value for money, so you may start by looking at them first.

Dyson V10 Animal vs Absolute vs Motorhead: Differences

The Animal and Absolute use a Torque drive cleaner head, whereas the Motorhead uses a Direct drive cleaner head

The Absolute uses a Soft roller cleaner head for hard surfaces, and larger debris

The Motorhead comes with just the Combination tool, and the crevice tool. But, the Animal and Absolute come with the mini soft dusting brush, and mini-motorized tool as well

The Motorhead dust container capacity is .54 Liters, whereas the Animal and Absolute dust container capacity is .77 Liters

Overall

Overall, the power and features on the V10 Motorhead are good, but reliability/durability are a concern for some buyers. The battery especially runs out quick for some people. You also get less accessories, different vacuum head and lower capacity than the other V10 models. The V8 may be a better choice if you want more value for money.
