Black & Decker Vacuums: Reviews

Black And Decker Airswivel Upright Pet Vacuum

View On Amazon

Features

An upright corded vacuum that needs only one motor

Comes at quite an affordable price

Has Airswivel technology that provides more maneuverability with a swivel head that rotates up to 170 degrees

Can be used on carpets and hardwood

Weighs only 8.8lbs

Suction power is roughly 75 Air Watts

Has a 12 inch wide cleaning path

Has foam filters

Bagless – has an easy to empty dust container with a volume of 2L

Has a Cord Length of 25 feet

Has a Hose Length of 8 feet

Comes with a 2-in-1 Crevice Tool Brush for tight areas

Comes with a Pet Tool for upholstery, rugs and pet beds

Has a 1 year limited warranty

Drawbacks

Power is good, but not as strong as some of the other electric/corded vacuums on the market – more of a light to mid power vacuum

Hose length could be longer

Hose could be thicker – if you are vacuuming thick hair or thick dirt, the hose or filter may clog from time to time

The vacuum works well on hardwood and light carpet, but can struggle and bog down on thicker carpet

On some models, there can be issues with the motor reliability or durability

Overall

As a cheaper lightweight corded model for light-mid range suction and vacuuming, the Airswivel Upright is a good option. Make sure you are aware of the return policy and warranty before you buy to cover yourself in case you have any issues. For more power and versatility out of an electric vacuum, you might look at the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away TruePet Upright Vacuum

BLACK + DECKER Lithium 2 in 1 Pet Stick Vacuum

View On Amazon

Features

A 2 in 1 upright stick vac, that can also be detached and used as a hand vac

It is cordless and runs on lithium batteries

It has a run time of around 60 minutes

The charge duration is roughly 6 hours

Has anti tangle rubber bristles to lift pet hair

Has AUTOSENSE that adjusts suction from bare floor to thick carpet

Has BATTERSENSE that shows remaining battery

Has FILTERSENSE that alerts to clean the filter

Has LED headlights on the vacuum brush head part

Total suction power is 44.68 Air Watts

The battery power rating is 18V and the battery capacity is 2.5 Ah

The dust container has a 1L capacity

The vacuum comes with a crevice tool and a pet hair tool

Comes with a replacement filter and replacement scented tablet

Drawbacks

More of a light clean to medium clean vacuum than a heavy clean one

The battery run time can sometimes be shorter than you expect

The batteries are not external – so when you run out of battery, you have to wait for a full charge to take place

Because this vacuum runs on battery, make sure you read the return policy and warranty before buying in case you have issues with the battery

Overall

Not bad as a light to mid clean type vacuum. The batteries could be external and could be slightly more reliable in terms of run time. The price feels a little high until you consider it is a cordless lithium battery vacuum which is always going to be more expensive technology no matter who you buy from. For more power, you might go with an electric pet vacuum like the Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away TruePet

Drawbacks

The suction is OK without being outstanding. It feels like a vacuum more for light to medium duty cleaning

The battery sometimes doesn’t last as long during runtime as you want it to

There are other cheaper portable cordless handheld pet vacs out there

Overall
