BISSELL Symphony vs HOOVER FloorMate vs Shark vs Dyson: Summary, & Which TO Get

A summary of what brand and models is, what they offer, and what to get:

The Symphony is a vac and steam mop – so, if steaming hard floors, and vacuuming debris is what you want to do, you may start by looking at it.

The Dyson V Series cordless stick vacuums are vacuums only.

The HOOVER FloorMate is a hard surfaces scrubber/cleaner, that sucks up the dirty leftover water. It might be better checking out the BISSELL CrossWave (a wet dry vac) over the FloorMate first.

The Shark Steam Mops are for steaming hard surfaces, and the Lift Off allows above floor steaming too. They have mop pads which allow cleaning of hard surfaces with water/steam.

Symphony (Vac & Steam Mop 2 in 1)

The Symphony machines are 2 in 1 steam mops, and vacuum cleaners.

They are designed for sealed hard surfaces.

The Symphony Pet model offers features specific to pet owners.

Dyson (Cordless Stick Vacuums)

The main difference between the Dyson cordless vac models is that the suction power increases from the V6 up to the V11, with the V11 being the most powerful of them all.

The battery life also generally increases too.

We believe the V8 series offers the best value for money overall in terms of performance, battery life and reliability/durability, followed closely by the V7 series.

The V10 is powerful, but the battery life can in terms of how quickly it can drain can be an issue for some.

The V11 is estimated to be about 40% more powerful than the V8 range, and 20% more powerful than the V10 range.

If cost isn’t an issue, the V11 models are a good option if you want that extra power – the Torque Drive Model also has a real time LCD display for the vacuum.

The V11 models have max 60 minutes of run time on their batteries.

HOOVER FloorMate (Hard Floor Cleaner)

A hard floor cleaner – it scrubs and cleans hard sealed surfaces with scrubber brushes, and then sucks up the dirty water

In our opinion, the BISSELL CrossWave which is also a wet dry vac, is a better option to look at.

Shark Steam Mops

The Lift Off and Genius are the more advanced models.

You’d get them if you want more features, and specific features like no touch pad changing, the steam blaster, and more.

The Steam Pocket is the next step down from these two. It has swivel steering, and 2 sided cleaning pad cleaning.

The S1000 is the most affordable and most basic model. It lacks any standout features other than it is affordable, lightweight and compact. It’s just a ‘no frills’ steam mop cleaner.

In addition to the above steam mops, it’s worth noting Shark also has the Shark VacMop Pro – which is a steam mop and vac 2 in 1.
