Best Eco Friendly Dog Beds: Buyer’s Guide

What’s Good About Using Recycled Materials Like Plastic Bottles In Dog Beds?

The obvious benefit of using recycled materials like life jacket foam or plastic bottles is that the material doesn’t go to landfill.

Instead it is recycled and re-used for new products.

Some dog beds even use upcycled materials, which means the material is used in it’s original form (as long as it is clean and passes checks and standards), meaning the materials don’t have to go through a more energy intensive recycled process.

Read more about the pros and cons of recycling in this guide.

What’s Good About Using Natural Hemp and Natural Fibres In Dog Beds?

Hemp and natural fibres are usually more sustainable than man made materials, and are grown and renewed naturally from the hemp plant.

Synthetic materials like polyester for example are made with process usually using coal, petroleum, air and water.

Hemp has some other good benefits like:

Requiring very little water and no herbicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or GMO seeds

Usually is shorter to reach harvest age and produces more fibres per acre
