Andis ShowEdge Blades Review & Buyer’s Guide

If you prefer, you can go straight to viewing the Andis ShowEdge Blades here:

What Are The Andis ShowEdge Blades?

They are chrome plated, carbon-steel edged blades.

What Are The Andis ShowEdge Blades Designed For?

They are designed for creating a fine and smooth finish on a dog’s coat without leaving tracks from the blade in the hair. They are meant to provide a finer cut with fewer passes through the hair.

What Are The Andis ShowEdge Blades Realistically Used For?

The teeth are closer together than on the CeramicEdge and UltraEdge blades.

With this in mind, they are realistically better for already fine and non matted fur. You will struggle to get them through thick, non groomed or matted hair – they are likely to get stuck.

Which Andis ShowEdge Blades Are Available?

Four of the ShowEdge blades available are the:

Andis ShowEdge 4SE Blade – leaves hair 3/8″ (9.5 mm)

Andis ShowEdge 5SE Blade – leaves hair 1/4″ (6.3 mm)

Andis ShowEdge 6SE Blade – leaves hair 3/16″ (4.8 mm)

Andis ShowEdge 7SE Blade – leaves hair 3/32″ (2.4mm)

Which Pet Clippers Are The Andis ShowEdge Blades Compatible With?

They are compatible with most Andis detachable pet clippers. They may also be compatible with the Oster and Wahl detachable clippers – but you should check before buying.

When buying pet clippers, the product description should list the blades the clipper is compatible with – so always confirm there first.

Andis ShowEdge Blade Care

Andis offers two main products for blade care:

Andis ShowEdge Blade Heating & Cooling

Some clipper blades become hot when you use them continuously for longer periods.

You can either use coolant, or some people buy a backup of the same blade and interchange/rotate them so one blade can cool down while they are using the other.
